The IIDA 2016 Western Region Student Design Charette will be held in Seattle, WA on April 16th, 2016 and will feature students from the Association’s Northern Pacific, Oregon, Northern California, Southern California and Southwest Chapters. Charette teams will present their design solutions to a panel of renowned jurors from the Western Region and beyond, who will then select a winning team to advance to the next level of Interior Design Charette competition at Neocon 2016. Studio O+A

Member of the Northern California Chapter

Mindi Weichmann is a Design Studio Manager at Studio O+A, the San Francisco firm responsible for groundbreaking workplace designs at Uber, Yelp, Cisco, Aol and many other companies. Her career has included periods at RMW and Gensler and work on high-profile projects at Facebook, Ericsson and Cambridge Associates. Telling the story is an O+A designer’s first goal. As Studio Manager, Mindi guides her design team at every phase of a project—from high-level conceptual development to in-the- trenches problem solving. “My favorite part is the construction process,” she says. “Being on site working with the contractor and seeing things actually built.” She credits years of hard-hat experience with making her a more responsible designer. “I like seeing it in reality much more than seeing it in a rendering or on paper.”
