This year our Keynote Speaker is Celeste Headlee, Public Broadcast Radio Show Host and author of “Heard Mentality”.

Celeste Headlee is the host of “On Second Thought” at Georgia Public Broadcasting in Atlanta, and has been a host and correspondent for NPR and PRI since 2006. Headlee’s anchoring at NPR includes “The Takeaway,” as well as “Tell Me More,” “Talk of the Nation,” and “Weekend Edition.” She has trained journalists through NPR’s Next Generation program since 2006. Headlee also has appeared as a guest on CNN, the BBC, and other international networks, and in 2012, she anchored presidential election coverage for PBS World.

Following her TedxCreativeCoast talk in 2015, her presentation, “10 Ways to Have a Better Conversation,” was featured on the site and has been viewed more than 4 million times. Now, Headlee speaks about the art of conversation, music, journalism, and more. Her first book, “Heard Mentality,” was released in May 2016. She is currently working on her second book based on the subject of her Tedx talk.

Skid Row Housing Trust

IIDA SoCal is proud to be honoring Skid Row Housing Trust at this year’s event.

Skid Row Housing Trust is a nationally-recognized nonprofit organization based in Downtown Los Angeles that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for individuals who have experienced homelessness, prolonged extreme poverty, poor health, disabilities, mental illness and/or addiction so that they can lead safe, stable lives in wellness.
