IIDA Southern California Chapter brings designers, industry partners and students together through educational programs, inspirational lectures, creative City Center events, student programs, awards and competitions. Our Chapter is dedicated to keeping our members informed, educated and connected to what is happening in legislation in our state while forging stronger relationships with colleges and universities in our region. Our Chapter is passionate about working with charities throughout our region and giving back to our community. And, we continue to partner with other industry professional organizations.
IIDA Southern California is proud to contribute to charities throughout our region. Through events such as our City Center fashion shows, Kickball Tournament, San Diego Art Show and Leaders Breakfast, we are able to donate funds to a variety of different charity organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Shane’s Inspiration, Dress for Success and Free Arts for Abused Children – organizations that have a passion for architecture, design and the arts.
Each year, our Chapter will maximize our donation and have a larger financial impact through our events by partnering with a single Southern California organization. The 2010-2011 year will focus on Free Arts for Abused Children, a nonprofit organization that integrates the healing and therapeutic power of the arts into the lives of children and youth who have been abused, are homeless or at-risk of falling through the cracks of the system, as well as their families in need.
We invite all of our members to reach out to our design community and get involved. Join a committee, create a program, become a mentor, or participate in a Chapter event. We encourage members and non-members to bring their expertise and become engaged, either through your City Center or help us reach a broader audience around the region at the Chapter level.
