The OC Fair & Event Center, with roots from the late 1800s, partnered with LPA Studios to expand their central administrative building, blending historical pride with future vision. A key design feature is the iconic gable roof, inspiring a bright, elevated atrium that feels both familiar and reimagined.
Achieving a simple aesthetic required thoughtful, integrated design. LPA’s interdisciplinary team worked to preserve the iconic A-frame form while maximizing daylight, openness, and community connection. Warm wood tones and honest materials create a refined expression of the fairgrounds’ agrarian roots.
The addition now serves as the campus town square—a welcoming front porch for the fairgrounds that connects its history to its future.
