IIDA SoCal Chapter Receives ‘Outstanding Community Organization’ Award from CSUN

On Friday, May 9, 2025, the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) at California State University, Northridge, proudly hosted the annual FCS Scholarships and Awards Celebration in the Orchard Conference Room. This special event brought together students, faculty, staff, and community partners to recognize outstanding achievements and contributions that have made a lasting impact on the CSUN FCS community.

A highlight of the celebration was the presentation of the FCS Outstanding Community Organization Award to Jill Potts and the IIDA Southern California Chapter. Jill Potts is the former VP of Student Affairs for the Chapter, and has worked with CSUN on numerous student scholarship awards programs. The award was presented by Rodica Kohn, IIDA Campus Center Faculty Advisor for CSUN, in recognition of the IIDA SoCal Chapter’s dedicated support, leadership, and long-standing partnership with the university.

This honor reflects the invaluable role IIDA SoCal has played in enriching the educational experiences of CSUN students, offering mentorship, professional opportunities, and unwavering encouragement throughout the years.

The FCS Department extends its deepest gratitude to Jill Potts and the IIDA SoCal Chapter for their continued commitment to student success and for being a vital part of the CSUN community.
