Chidimma holds a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University in Irvine and a Master of Interior Architecture from the Interior Designers Institute (idi) in Newport Beach. Ms. Abuka is a LEED ID+C Accredited Professional, a WELL Accredited Professional, a Fitwel Ambassador, an ENVISION Sustainability Professional, and is Living Future Accredited. She is a Sustainability Coordinator, working with the Gensler Newport Beach, Los Angeles, and San Diego offices. Based in Newport Beach, Chidimma is a Studio Design Resilience Leader, Gensler Research Champion, and the Consulting + Real Estate Services Leader. Her love for reading and teaching inspired her to start a book club for the Newport Office.


Chidimma currently works in several design typologies including office, retail, residential, healthcare, and municipal. She contributes to the design, sustainability and long-term resilience of projects including high-rise office buildings, mixed-use, metropolitan airport expansions, student housing projects, sports arenas, rehabilitation centers, commercial banks, and more.


Chidimma is a faculty member at the Interior Designers Institute. She is member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Biomimicry Institute, Center for Active Design, International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Retail Design Institute (RDI), U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI), International Living Future Institute (ILFI), and the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). Chidimma volunteers as the VP of Professional Development at the Southern California Chapter of IIDA and also serves as the Sponsorship Chair for the Orange County City Center.


Recently, Chidimma and a team at Gensler were awarded 2021-2022 Gensler Research Institute grant for The Future of Gas Stations proposal submitted on brownfield remediation.
