Designer (Interiors)

Reports to Department Director/Principal or Studio Manager

Takes Direction from Senior Project Designer, Project Designer, or Project Manager.

Education

Preferred Technical College Degree/Certificate or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an accredited interiors architectural related program.

Experience

Preferred minimum of 1 years of experience with the use of AutoCAD in relation to interiors architectural type of work.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel experience is preferred.
  • Ability to create complete presentation package is essential.
  • Proficiency in the basic technical skills of interior design including the following computer skills:
  • Proficiency in Deltek Vision highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in Newforma preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop.
  • Proficiency in Revit is preferred.
  • Proficiency in of Adobe Suite and Sketch up graphic software.
  • Knowledge of 3D Modeling software such as 3D Studio Max and Lumion preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide AutoCAD and Revit support for the preparation of project documents.
  • Assist the Project Designer with project coordination as it relates to design concepts for construction services.
  • Support and assist in the development of space planning concepts and creation of program documents
  • Coordinate finish plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction with project team.
  • Partner with Intermediate and Senior Designers in meetings with consultants, furniture dealers, product reps, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives
  • Provide assistance for submittals for jurisdiction agencies.
  • Assist with the preparation of Field Verifications, BOMA calculations, as well as general AutoCAD support as each project requires.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, consultants, and Ware Malcomb employees.
