2015 Student Design Charette

The IIDA Student Design Charette is the embodiment of brainstorming and teamwork. It is an opportunity to join students from various schools into a collaborative, unified effort. All Southern California schools are invited to participate on a first-come, first-served basis, sending three students to the all-day event. Teams will be challenged to develop a design presentation based on a program assigned at the beginning of the day. An esteemed panel of judges view and select the top presentations to move onto a verbal presentation round. Each of those teams present and describe their design in front of judges and event guests. After deliberation, judges select a first and second place team. The first place team is awarded $10,000 which is presented on stage at the Calibre Awards. The second place winning team will be awarded $4,000.

Each team entry will be judged on the following criteria: creativity in execution of program requirements, team dynamic, graphic presentation and verbal presentation. The first place winning team will receive their check at the Calibre Awards Gala on May 1, 2015 and will be representing IIDA SoCal Chapter at the first IIDA West Coast Regional Design Charette which will be held in Orange County on April 11, 2015. The second place team will receive their check via mail in May 2015. The IIDA West Coast Regional Charette team winners will be representing the West Coast region at the National Student Charette on June 16, 2015 at NeoCon, Chicago.
