Arper Celebrates Los Angeles Showroom Opening

Italian design brand Arper has opened its first west coast showroom in Downtown Los Angeles. Located on the plaza floor of the KPMG center, the modern showroom was designed by New York-based architect Solveig Fernlund in collaboration with Arper’s Creative Director Jeannette Altherr from Barcelona, to embody the brand’s ethos through an exploration of light, space and color – all of which represent shared values between the brand and its new location in California.

“L.A. is more closely aligned with Mediterranean culture than Arper’s other locations in New York or Chicago,” says Jeannette Altherr, Creative Director. “Both in terms of climate and vegetation, but also through the influence of Modernism, with which clean, rational lines and a mix of vibrant colors speaks to the emotions. We wanted this to come across in the showroom, which projects a tactile and happy atmosphere with a sense of optimism.”

High ceilings and large windows enlarge the 3,000 square foot space, making the showroom feel spacious and airy, while connecting it with the outdoors. Natural light flows through the space and invites visitors to experience Arper’s furniture in various settings – small and large, intimate and grand, commercial and residential.

The new space expertly showcases Arper’s modern way of bridging the gap between work and life. Arper hopes the showroom will become a trusted resource for designers in the L.A. area, creating a place where the A&D community can engage with its knowledgeable staff and experience its contemporary furnishings first-hand.
