The SAA design team will be guiding us through Inari Medical presenting the many exciting aspects of their newly designed facility, while taking a deeper dive into the design process that brought the space to life. As one of the product and service partners on the project, Armstrong Ceilings played an integral role in bringing the design team’s vision and space requirements to life. For this two-part event, Armstrong will be presenting a CEU on Integrated Ceiling and Lighting Solutions to kick off the evening. Driven by tremendous growth of their technology, Inari determined that they would need to relocate and expand their headquarters operation. The Inari project size is 110,000 SF, conversion of warehouse to office, research and development as well as manufacturing. Upon selection of a site, the design team had just under 4 months to plan, design and document a new and highly complex build-out. One of the first challenges of the building was discovered during the design phase. The building, as designed primarily as warehouse space, required substantial internal structure to support basic interior improvements such as wall framing, suspended acoustic ceilings and light fixtures.
Inari’s commitment to their culture and staff was the focus of the design for the 65,000 SF administrative office space. One of the most unique and most activated spaces in the building is the large lunchroom, central to the facility and adjacent to a large two-story stadium style stair used for frequent employee meetings and communications. The large open spaces support the open and transparent communication style that the Inari culture embodies. To promote employee engagement and productivity, the open workspace is balanced with small private and deep work rooms. A variety of large and small meeting spaces, enclosed and open, are strategically located throughout the facility to encourage collaboration. Wall graphics and patient stories installed throughout the facility visually reflect the success story of Inari Medical and how their devices save lives and impact patients. Inari’s design goal was to have a workspace that reminded them of the importance of their work, while also encouraging taking time to enjoy each other, finding reasons to laugh and smile while at work and not taking themselves too seriously.
