SoCal weather is heating up and IIDA-SoCal’s Orange County City Center is making a splash with our upcoming Recipe for Design virtual design tour event. The team at Little Diversified Architectural Consulting will be presenting the newly constructed Orange Coast College Aquatics Pavilion, home of OCC’s Pirate Athletics.
Little’s Higher Education Studio Principal, Rita Carter, will walk through the central vision of the collaboration with the client in creating an iconic building for the face of the campus that provides a unique environment for the Division of Kinesiology and Athletics to call home. The design concept revolves around “movement” gestures of water and body flow. The aquatics, adapted PE and kinesiology program pieces are arranged to respect the individual functions, while form and materials are used to reflect notions of movement throughout. The ‘recipe for design’ of the project will also be reflected in the presentation of the perfect summertime recipe.
