Hana Dorani Member Spotlight

Hana Dorani is currently the VP of Sponsorship for IIDA Southern California and has been with Knoll in Los Angeles for the past 5 years as a Sales Associate. She covers the commercial design sector, finding it inspiring to work with a company that is setting the standards in furniture design. Hana explained, “Every piece has a story, but I have to admit, I have a few favorites, including anything from the Saarinen and Bertoia collections. Knoll has such timeless products – it makes it fun to find solutions for my clients and help them create inspiring and functional workspaces!”

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Hana moved to Los Angeles with her family when she was 7 years old. She grew up in Sherman Oaks, and graduated with Honors from California State University in Northridge with a BA in Art. She studied illustration and graphic design, and has since picked up a passion for photography.

Hana began her career in the contract interior design industry 10 years ago, working in marketing, manufacturing, and furniture dealership. She has been a strong supporter of the architecture and design community through involvement with IIDA SoCal. Hana has been an active member with IIDA since 2010 and has served on several committees – including the Calibre Design Awards, which is the Southern California Chapter’s largest annual fundraising event as well as Leaders Breakfast, LA Haunt Couture, and LA Student Exhibitions.

Hana says, “Joining IIDA has helped me connect with the design community and form professional and personal friendships. LA’s design community is extremely special and I love that our events bring people together. I always find the experience as either an organizer or attendee really rewarding.”

Hana lives in Encino with her husband and two children and is passionate about travel, great food, and spending time with her family. Hana says “Being a working mom requires a strong work-life balance and spending quality time with my family is a high priority. On vacations, we love visiting places that help us recharge and appreciate the beauty of the world – typically, places with white sand and turquoise waters”. Hana plans to visit Asia and Europe with her family in the future, and has also set up a return visit to her hometown in Israel.
