We are an architecture, site and interior design studio that focuses on the process of problem solving while making beautiful and sustainable places. Our design process leads to unique, well crafted, environmentally sound solutions that support the collaboration of people, idea development, and healthy living. Located in an open studio a block away from the ocean in San Diego, CA, we foster collaboration and camaraderie amongst our 20-person studio. 

Architects HGW is seeking an Interior Designer to join our team in working on multiple project types including Hospitality, Workplace, Higher Education, Healthcare, Life Science, Civic, Multi-Family and Custom Single Family Residential. We are a design-oriented office, offering hands on experience and growth opportunity in a collaborative culture.

Job Requirements: 

  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to collaborate with project design team
  • Strong organizational and written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at one time
  • Knowledge of interior design processes inclusive of programming, space planning, design concept development, and material and finish selections and construction management 
  • Graphic and presentation skills to effectively communicate design intent 
  • Ability to produce and coordinate a set of construction documents 
  • Knowledge of interior products, detailing, and construction methods 
  • Experience with furniture selections and managing furniture specifications

Qualifications: 

  • Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited University program 
  • Minimum five (5) to ten years of experience in interior design
  • Experience with variety of interior design project types
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software 
  • NCIDQ Certification or actively seeking is preferred but not required
