INTERIOR DESIGNER III

This position requires the following:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
  • Requires a minimum of 5-8 years relevant experience.
  • Proficient in use of design and production software: AutoCad, Design Manager, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Graphics and design including: Freehand sketches, product detailing, custom millwork designs, shop drawings and vignettes
  • Experience designing within both commercial and residential interior design is required and to be able to work throughout the design process.
  • Have a thorough understanding of all design phases. Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Construction Administration.
  • Must have an understanding of technical regulations and related code compliance
  • Must have the ability to independently complete a Construction Document Set
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively with individuals throughout the organization and requires a strong team-oriented approach, as well as excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize is a must
  • Time management skills are essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to interpret specifications and layouts
  • Basic knowledge of functional analysis and space planning principles
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within field
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Will report to the Project Manager and/or Senior Designer and perform a variety of tasks.
  • Provide solutions to design problems and generating design alternatives
  • Reviewing pricing, materials, and value engineering for projects

This position is responsible for the following:

  • Monitoring billable time and project budgets and informs Senior Designer of concerns
  • Understanding the project scope in order to develop concepts and approaches appropriate to the budget
  • Preparing presentations and other project deliverables while adhering to the overall project design schedule
  • Attending meetings as required by the Senior Designer
  • Taking responsibility for and checks their own work
