IIDA Student Calendar

IIDA’s Los Angeles City Center held their 3rd Annual Student Design Exhibition on June 6th at Cal State Long Beach.  The future of design relies on connections with our past, present and future.  Our commitment to fusing the industry with bright prospects leads to innovative strategies in design while building bridges that strengthen our community.  As an incoming senior at Cal State Long Beach, Valerie Drago states “this event is an opportunity for us to build bridges with the professional world and show them the kind of work we are doing.”

Watch this video to see the student’s work and hear the judges’ comments from this year’s exhibition.  You will see twenty-five thesis projects from the following institutions:  Art Center College of Design, Art Institute of Southern California, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Northridge, Design Institute of San Diego, Mount San Antonio Community College, Otis College of Art & Design, UCLA Extension, and Woodbury University.

A special thank you to our judge’s this year- Philippe Pare, Architect, Design Director, Senior Associate at Gensler; David Fridlund, Principal at Wirt Design Group; Jaimelynn Shah, Designer at Gensler; and Dan Chong, Principal at Archi-txture.  We also extend our appreciation to all our sponsors who contributed to the success of this event.

The beauty of the exhibition is in its reach.  Students coming from all over the world, exposed to a wide scope of design possibilities and experiences, will draw from their inspiration and show us what the future of interiors, exteriors, furniture and technological fusion will look like.  Help us continue to build IIDA Campus Centers for student’s to network, share their work and mingle with the industry as they explore future opportunities for their careers.
