OC Haute Couture Fashion Show Unplugged

Designers and architects throughout Orange County gathered for the Haute Couture fashion show “Color Theory, A Celebration of Color” featuring the works of several local design firms. With fabrics that selected at the Trunk Show designers were challenged to create custom garment with typical interior design finish materials. This exciting event offered design firms an opportunity to utilize their creative skills along with a friendly competitive edge to produce a unique design to catch the judges eyes.

Sarah Walker and Stephanie Martinez of Ware Malcomb served as the nights MC’s and started the show by introducing the judges and all event sponsors. A short video outlined each firms vision prior to their models walk down the runway. Spectators were surprised as pieces of the costume were transformed to uncover a completely new design.

First place for Best Haute Couture was awarded to Little Diversified’s ‘Enchanted Emerald’. GKK Works won Breakthrough Colorist for their interpretation of a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. Kardent won Creative Colorist for their use of Glowing Green. The Art Institutes won for Best Emerging Design Team.

Co-Chairs for the event were Lauren Hurley from Global and Jill Dougherty of Momentum.

A brief video showcasing all designs can be found here.
