San Diego Art Show 2014 Unplugged

This past week the San Diego IIDA Chapter hosted the Art Show for the first time since 2011 with great success! 300 people from the San Diego A&D community gathered in the Penthouse Suite of the La Jolla Commons to enjoy the art show and silent auction. Furniture vignettes sponsored by members of the Art Show committee offered an excellent place to relax and take it all in.

Nearly 50 boards were submitted from the A&D Community with mediums ranging from paint swatches to living succulent gardens. Attendees were encouraged to vote for their favorite piece by placing their selection in paint cans throughout the space. The first place winner entitled “Stop and Small the Fabric”, was created by Kelly Dvorak of GMBI. She utilized small pieces of Herman Miller’s felt to create a hibiscus flower enticing guests to take a moment to reflect. Second place went to Eric Cayabyab from UniSource for “Widgets and Gizmos”. Third place won by Morgan Zimmerman of Parron Hall for “All of the Above”.

This event would not have been possible without the generous sponsors and the entire committee of volunteers headed by co-chairs Cari Meyer-C3 Lines, Elizabeth Young- Ware Malcomb, and Hallie Putterman-Bentley. We hope to see you again next year!
