Trend Report: Decorative Tile

Tile has been a decorative element in interiors for over 4,000 years. Surfaces clad with tile have been found in the pyramids, and in the ruins of ancient Babylon, Greece, and the palaces of the near East. While tile has been a colorful and rich component of the history of interior decoration and design all along, it seems to be experiencing a resurgence. As of late, bright and graphic tile work has been appearing in residential and hospitality design in droves.

Personally, I can’t ignore a great tile pattern – and it seems that I’m not alone. Social media outlets like Pinterest and Instagram have also caught on to the tile trend. So if the images below aren’t enough, check out #floorcore on Instagram for some extra tile inspiration.
