Young Designer Spotlight Unplugged

Students and professionals gathered last week at the Haworth showroom in Santa Monica for the 5th annual Student Design Exhibition. More than 100 industry professionals were provided the opportunity to view the thesis/end of semester projects of several emerging design students in Southern California. Haworth proved to be an excellent location to showcase several design boards, digital media and intricate physical models.

A panel of distinguished jurors reviewed all entries and voted for their favorite designs. First place was awarded to Angela Chang and second place to William Shin, both from Art Center College of Design. Third place was given to Emilia Francesci of Cal State Long Beach. Along with receiving awards, each student won a prize from our various sponsors-CS&A, Light, Davis and Bentley.

The attendees also had an opportunity to peruse the designs and vote for their favorite. The People’s Choice award was presented to Julia Kirby from CSUN. Two Honorable Mention awards were won by Sean Chen of Art Center College of Design, and Priscilla Perez of Woodbury.
