IIDA SoCal 2023 Annual Board Meeting

The IIDA Southern California Chapter held its Annual Board Meeting at bkm OfficeWorks in San Diego on July 22nd. The day started with an open session, where we celebrated our accomplishments over the last year, including the transformation of our new Vision & Mission and Core Values: Community, Connect, Advocate, Cultivate and Aspire.  The morning concluded with an inspirational message from Outgoing President, Jade Li.

This year, there were multiple Board Members of the Year, one corresponding to each Core Value. Congratulations to Jill Potts (Community), Chloe Thornton (Connect), Gabrielle Mote (Advocate), Brett Shwery (Cultivate) and Jade Li (Aspire).

After hearing updates from our Chapter VPs and Directors, we swore in the new 2023-24 Board of Directors.

In the closed afternoon session, we heard from our new President, Brett Shwery, FIIDA, CID, AAIA, LEED AP before heading into two workshop sessions which focused on a “3 Pillar Strategic Action Plan’ in nine areas of focus and concluded with a massive exercise in “Building Our Calendar” for the next 18 months.
